Quotes from the longer article:

REGINA — It’s been over 20 years since Freddie Mercury died but not a day goes by when Peter Freestone doesn’t think about him. Queen’s iconic frontman was larger than life and so is his legacy — that’s why it’s remained a part of his good friend and former personal assistant ever since.

“Freddie’s impact (on me) has been everlasting,” said Freestone. “I’ve never had a job where you finish and it just stays with you. I worked that job for 12 years up until he passed away and it’s been following me for 25.”

Mr. Freestone  has this to say about Adam Lambert:

Freestone’s no longer trying to dodge around old memories. In fact, he’s had a total change of heart — he’s even been to see Queen with new frontman Adam Lambert twice.

“Nobody’s ever Freddie,” he said. “But (Lambert)’s not trying to be … so many people feel that when Freddie died the music ended. But if you’re listening to any classical piece today, you’re never listening to an original. You’re listening to a cover by an orchestra. Queen, as in Roger (Taylor) and Brian (May), are the original, they just have someone else singing the music with them. And I think he does a good job.”
